Polormond?
Anyone else seen this? Very vague on details, heavy and eyewateringly expensive but interesting? You be the judge?

Re: Clips or flats?
After the wrt I have decided to switch to spds. I didn't do too much pushing but I did find I was getting "hot spots" on my feet from I think the flexible soles of the walking boots I was wearing and the fact that my feet were moving in position quite a bit. Figured it is worth a try. Now ...

Thanks mr bearbones!
Thanks to bearbones hq for organising the wrt this year! I had a great time, some great riding and ate more fruit pastels than previously thought humanly possible! Home and dry now, and already looking forward to next year! Thanks again

Re: Kit Lists?
I take it this is different from the kit list in the virtual shopping basket of my mind? That one is long, but very light... My actual list is far from honed but is coming on, the main battle being that my kit is far from light weight or small of pack size... Just got a new mini lantern thing though...

Bike? Knew I was missing something... Haha
Wet wipes are a good shout, mainly planning on spars etc for food but will defo have some emergency rations...
And yes, I will probably get more sleep this way than at home... No kids for 3 days! It's a recent record!

One week to go!
One week to go till wrt, and I'm starting to feel ready, undertrained but ready. Got an approx route worked out (we are planning on playing it a little by ear) and my bags seem nearly packed... So my question is, what have I forgotten? What is the one thing you always take or now know to take that y...

+1 for X mini, not waterproof but durable, good sound projection and cheap so easily replaceable as necessary. Saying that, current one has done 2 years of quite hard use in a wide variety of situations, including at sea in pretty wet conditions...

Ground sheet?
Yes or no? If yes what to use? Will be used (depending on the results of this highly scientific survey) in conjunction with goretrx army bivvy, tarp and mat but I intend to put the mat in the bag. Thinking in wet the bag would wet out, get everything else wet and be a general pain in the proverbial....

Re: WRT Grid Refs
Thanks for the advice chew, I think your right, trim it down. There are two grids close together and I feel I want to try for those, making it into an up and round loop though is what makes the ride to long. Basic plan is first night towards Barmouth with breakfast there somewhere, second day much l...

Re: WRT Grid Refs
As a first time wrt'er who has convinced his cousin and a mate to come along the evenings Are currently spentplaying with maps and they are wonderful. For two reasons: 1. I love maps 2. It means that I am doing something towards the event which makes me feel less guilty about the lack of training......

Which os map (s) for wrt
Simple question for a first time, not looking to ride more than 40miles a day, no training due to baby problems, desperately accruing credit so he can still come, under prepared, unfit rider. Which maps do I need.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The young kids thing is my reason for a more modest want list!
Wrt, I have a free pass for this and 2 other bivi weekends away, that's all I ask for. Not to much surely?
