Looking for a dual ended silnylon stuff sack
Been looking around for one of these to use so I can leave my bicycle 7 tarp set up with ridge line etc and stuff it into a bag from both ends. I want one with draw cords rather than than fold-over ends with a capacity of around 1.5 litres. Can not see anything using the internet with the exception ...

Re: Tech help
I put it up on the stand this morning and was managing to get it in all the gears without changing anything but was sounding rough. I then noticed it has a 9 speed chain fitted. Surprised my LBS put a nine speed with a ten speed cassette. Even more surprised that my last 10 speed cassette did not ca...

Re: Tech help
The rest of the system is SRAM rival. Just the original cassette was shimano for some reason.
The wheel is 11 speed compatible so it has a spacer on it for the 10 speed cassette.
Will stick a new chain on it tomorrow and take it from there. Worst case I can drop it at the LBS.

I changed the wheels on my bike and while doing so put a new 10 speed cassette on the new wheel. This would mean I would have shiny new wheels on my bike and the old wheel with the old cassette to use on the turbo (I really hate changing my tyres over all the time!!) However, now my gears are not sh...

Re: Exped Synmat UL 5...any users/experience?
Both I and my friend have this Synmat UL 5 that we use with the pillow pump (I know how sad is matching gear!) The reason we both have them is Blacks had them on sale around Christmas time and we got them for around £30 or £35 each. Anyways they are fine - have camped between Xmas and new year when ...

Garmin LiveTrack
Has anyone used this service? I was thinking of buying a Garmin Fenix 3 and noticed it is compatible with the LiveTrack service but can not find much information on how the service works. I think it needs to link to a phone to work but I can not find out if it uses GPS alone or needs a cell connecti...

Has anyone tried the Lifestraw go water bottle?
Looks like a decent design and gets good reviews.

Re: How to carry poles?
Would a normal bear-pole or carbon pole be up to the task of keeping the minipeak erect (!) in a moderate to high wind without just bending / breaking or blowing away? What height are you setting it up at? Around 140cm? If you are setting it around 140cm, I'd suggest a 12mm carbon pole as it won't ...

Re: How to carry poles?
Slightly off topic...... I have a lux sil minipeak and the pole I bought from backpacking light to go with it is huge. It is the thickest tent pole I have ever seen outside of a circus bigtop. Would a normal bear-pole or carbon pole be up to the task of keeping the minipeak erect (!) in a moderate t...

I see these are currently on offer on on one for £50.
Does anyone have one of these? Are they any good and can they be run from a USB external power pack like the Anker 15000mah packs?

Another Scot here, on the edge of Dundee. Nice balance between access to civilisation and remote rides. Also got great road rides on my doorstep.
Can any of you fifers suggest over night routes on your side of the Tay? Never strayed that way yet!

Re: Any online sourced for local information?
Just trying to join a few different tracks together for an over night loop. Starts in dunkeld heads through the hills to straloch then up into the edge of the cairngorms where I think it shares a part if the outer cairngorm loop down through glen tilt. Down to pitlochry then up to loch broom and bac...
