Cheers.
I didn't have any stainless counter sunk bolts but that will be a good idea. I suspect round heads would be better than square heads.

Myog anything cage
Fancied getting an anything cage for occasional use but put off by the price. A bit of rooting round the garage and found some 8 mm aluminium tube and 6 mm plate. A couple of happy hours with a pipe bender, hacksaw, file and drill and I've got this. Solid and perfect for a tarp on my stooge fork. ht...

Re: Alpine Bike
Gairy, Eddie was talking just this week of a trip out to ride your trails and now we're all full sussed i'm very tempted. I have a cotic flare max in large and i think you would get a half frame bag in above the shock. I am very impressed it rides very nicely. i have no full sus experience to say it...

Never had a Saunders, but I do have a Phoenix Phreeranger EB which was my 18th birthday present. I still think it's an vaguely exciting tent (my wife doesn't), it's last outing was a garden camping trip for the kids at the in-laws farm.

Re: info req on gps watches
I have a TomTom runner 2. it's good at tracking and nice having HR, although people question the accuracy of optical HR. Battery life is good. something like 10 hours in tracking mode, a week easily in activity monitoring mode. BUT I would not buy another TomTom and wouldn't recommend you do, the bl...

Hi Gairy, I'm Eddie's friend Mike. No I'm not riding, although i did have a funny and confusing conversation with eddie about it last night. I'd love to ride it but no way i could get a pass out for it at the moment.
have a good one!

Re: Appetite for another alt- bar
so I guess Stu's not interested! ;-)
I've looked at the stooge moto - they're very wide. I don't want to go that far, also they have lots of rise and only 17deg sweep.
my thinking is I want a slightly wider bend 2 but with more sweep.

Appetite for another alt- bar
I'm going to post this here first to gauge a little bit of interest, I hope this doesn't upset anyone, it's not an advert more research. Would there be any interest in another alt bar with these attributes: wider than (the widest) jones and salsa bend 2, but with a sweep angle somewhere in-between. ...

Re: BB200 Route Details
cheers Stu. Route looks fabulous. The Hand in Llanarmon-D-C does fantastic food. and there's two pubs in Llangynog which do great beers. and make sure you sign the book in the tin on The Wayfarer pass. quite jealous I turned it down now. Although the temptation for me to bail out to my in-laws for a...

Re: Uncomfortably numb. Riding and hand nerve damage.
Dunk090 - your condition sounds exactly like mine. I was getting numbness and pins & needles in first fingers. wrist pain etc. Had carpal surgery on my right wrist 2 1/2 years ago, it has relieved it a lot. Previous work went to a penguin mouse and full ergo keyboard. that helped enormously, cha...

Re: Anyone riding the Dunwich Dynamo tomorrow?
I rode my own dynamo variation. From my folks house in north essex village, picked up the route around midnight in finchingfield and out to dunwich. short powernap on the beach then ride back. Lovely evening/night/early morning. Great atmosphere. lots of fun. horrendous sunday weather. Got as far as...

Like psychovertical, all the Joe simpson books, into thin air etc. A little different: River Dog by Mark Shand - story of a trip following the brahmaputra with a stray dog. narrow dog to carcassone - mental trip in a narrow boat from the midlands to carcassone in france. very odd writing style, the ...

On road, last year's Dunwich dynamo variant at 222km, 138 miles.
Off road, last year's bb200 at 205km. 128 miles.
Fancy doing a 300k audax next year so hopefully will break my pb.

Re: Sturmey Archer s2?
I have a sturmey srf3 on my ' road ' bike. Use it for commuting and just going riding. Did Dunwich dynamo last year on it. Tonight I decided that it may be time to check the condition of the innards. It's been in my big r for four years and probably done 6-7000 miles. Apart from being a bit dry of g...
