The 'Find me this' thread.
After helping someone locate a certain hard to find item on-line this afternoon, I thought this might be useful. If you're having difficulty finding a specific part / item or know what you want but don't know whether it exists, post it up here and hopefully between us we can locate the item in question.

May the bridges you burn light your way

Stu's google-fu is strong. Though I'm still waiting for dispatch confirmation, until then its all just theory....
I also want one of the following tyres.
Bontrager Chupacabra 29×3.0
or
Vee Trax Fatty 29x3" 120 tpi
from a european seller. Although I think I cant get them cos they're not available...

This is my EXACT set up. I took this bottle/filter last weekend with a Camelbak Podium bottle, in 2 bottle cages inside the frame of my bike. Started without a filter in it, drank the contents, then put a filter back in. Its the best option I can see for now, till I find some half-gravity-waterFLV wrote:I think I've nailed this one though...benp1 wrote:dehydrated or lightweight water please

I fill a balloon with steam and tie it to my seatpost which also makes the bike lighter.

Re: The 'Find me this' thread.
The Stoater build is coming along nicely, but it isn't going to get completed without me being able to get hold of one of these:
http://www.dtswiss.com/Components/RWS/RWS-15-mm
It's to fit this fork: http://www.cxmagazine.com/trp-thru-axle ... ork-carbon
As I have a prototype fork, it hasn't come with an axle... A normal thru axle for, say, Rockshox is too long as the drop outs are quite narrow. So far a search for that above axle has drawn a complete blank
Beer or cake to the first person to turn one up, preferably in the UK.
Ready? Go!

Re: The 'Find me this' thread.
Thanks chaps. Getting close, possibly. I think FTK's one is for a rear as it says length 150mm in the specs? Pic also makes it look long?
Steve - that Tune one would do I think if I pick the DT Swiss option...?
But... £££
One of the things that is doing my head in is finding out the total axle length, thread length and so forth. Each manufacturer has gone about the 15mm thru axle "standard" differently.
Looking at DT Swiss forks, they seem to have narrow "dropouts", leading me to think TRP have built their fork to the same dimensions and therefore the Tune DT Swiss axle would fit, or (obviously) a normal DT Swiss axle if you can find one.

Find me a 29" or 650b hard tail suitable for my sixteen year old daughter for a mainly around town bike but able to take on the trails. Budget, not much.

.
Personally I would buy the longer MTB version and get a bloke with a lathe to turn it down and cut a new thread. Would be 20 minutes work.
Re: The 'Find me this' thread.
Hey Ian, I have a 15mm RWS here, currently unused. I'll send it to you for tuesday ETA if you return it as/when you find a new one?

Last time I got something turned down on a lathe, the guy charged me £20. I doubt it would be worth it in the long run..slarge wrote:Ian, it's only 43grams though - got to be worth it........

That's a very generous offer, thanks James. You still have my address?jameso wrote:Hey Ian, I have a 15mm RWS here, currently unused. I'll send it to you for tuesday ETA if you return it as/when you find a new one?
