Guided bike packing

^^^ I always thought the problem in LL&T national park was irresponsible wild camping. People car camping ( Glasgow is not far away) and basically having parties with large fires, loud music and loads of alcohol then leaving all their detritus behind for someone else to pick up.

Well, it is. However, the bye-laws restricting camping apply to everyone, even the quiet, hidden-away, law-abiding backpacker/bikepacker.

Which proves my point. Unfortunately the law is a blunt instrument invariably wielded by the short sighted.

How would you distinguish between a responsible camper and an irresponsible one, except retrospectively at the least?
I would imagine a more interesting/relevant question is what would an officers reaction be to finding someone clearly wild camping in its strictest sense?

I don't think there are a huge number of MTB "guides" here in the UK.

i did it for a little while in the lakes over the summer for a few years when i was at uni and back for the holidays , made a reasonable amount when i did take people out , but in reality proably only just coverd the costs of my qualification first aid, insurance etc etc, as there really wasnt that many people wanting guiding . and i was never that in to coaching though would do it.

Well, it is. However, the bye-laws restricting camping apply to everyone, even the quiet, hidden-away, law-abiding backpacker/bikepacker.

It should also be noted that the camping bylaws don't affect the day trippers that light fires, start fights, play sub standard music at antisocial levels & leave their rubbish all over the place... and arguably there are a lot more of those.
