Dynamo/light cable routing
I was just wondering where you have placed your cable guides and/or what your cable routing is like on your dynamo hub setups?
Re: Dynamo/light cable routing
i went up the right fork leg, across the stantion then up the front brake cable to the bars. used large zip ties on the forks then small ones on the cable.
i also have a bik with rigid forks and with this i just went up the right fork leg and to the bars.

R/H fork leg, cable tie to leg and side of brace then straight up to the bar.

That looks lovely - are those holes in the top tube for internal cable routing?flatfishy wrote:Nope, Olly's not that fast.![]()

2 wires from the hub cableties to the RHS leg. First Cable goes up head tube, feeding into the Plug 11
Second goes to the light, on outside via stem

Yup, three brass tubes inside the top tube.Zippy wrote:That looks lovely - are those holes in the top tube for internal cable routing?flatfishy wrote:Nope, Olly's not that fast.![]()

Re: Dynamo/light cable routing
Up RH fork leg then to side of head tube for me
I've used bands of old inner tube on my rigid forks.
using these instead of zipties allows me to remove the wire when i put the non dynamo front wheel in

Currently using electrical tape but have some double sided velcro I'll be using next time it has a good clean.

That sounds interesting, especially as I don't plan on my dynamo being a permeant fixture. Will the velcro not attract the cack though?johnnystorm wrote:Currently using electrical tape but have some double sided velcro I'll be using next time it has a good clean.

The stuff I've got is like a wider version of the velcro you get with Mucky Nuts bender fenders. I.e. its not that rough/furry but still grippy. I reasoned that with either zipties or tape you'll still always get crevices that collect cack. At least this way I can remove/reattach easily. Also, if I swap wheels and don't need the dyno I can remove everything easily.Brothersmith wrote:That sounds interesting, especially as I don't plan on my dynamo being a permeant fixture. Yeah, nothing special, just a strip from ebay. Could be a better deal out there. I give up searching all the combinations after a while!

Re: Dynamo/light cable routing
Try some Velcro cables ties, the ones with the hole in to thread through are especially strong. I use them to Hold stuff on like tubes and pumps, they are brilliant and re-usable for cables.
