26 inch iKON 3c and nine speed cassette from Bikeparts. First time using them and all was well, despite reading some unfavourable reviews online. Good price and very quick delivery.

The brush set from Wilko is fine. I pick up some MUC OFF from there when I need it.

Re: selling all and getting a cheating bike.
I've got a working class friend from a small Welsh town who was the first person in town to buy an ebike. He was working in Rotterdam on the docks and was hit by a container that came loose and his leg was partially trapped by the container. He was given a massive payout He can barely walk but is ou...

Though to be fair it's easier to be laid back in shorts and sandles on my slow tourer than it is on fast carbon using Strava. They don't want to stop do they?

Re: At last!
Most of my riding is done on country lanes, sustran type roads. I try and avoid traffic when ever possible, even in town I prefer back lanes and short cuts. I will always stop and let a car pass rather than keep it going until theres enough space for them to legally pass. On the other hand as a car ...

Nice thoughts stu. Ive been under a cloud last couple of years, I'm going through period of acceptance of growing older again, I've been struggling mentally with what feels like life is just rushing by with work, family. Feeling tired most of the time, more busy than I've ever been. As with everythi...

Re: Have we discussed shelters this year (I'verounded it down)!
I personally would avoid the FB sale, unless the person is a well known that your familiar with or others can vouch for them. I would buy direct from Tarptent for the same over all cost, so that I've got peace of mind and the Tarptent guarantee it comes with. There is a trend at the moment for some ...

Have you considered the Tarptent moment shaf? Similar dimensions to the notch but uses one pole through a sleeve rather than carrying two separate poles. It does come in a little heavier though. Although I don't know how heavy a notch and two bear bones poles come up to.

Panic snapped this on my tent over the weekend. Camera was in the tent. I was outside. Took a lot of very slow moving to make sure it didn't fly off. Utterly beautiful. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52110460451_9e8a781aef_c.jpg DSC06413-Edit.jpg by Greg.May , on Flickr Nice shot Greg. Are all...

Re: Has anyone actually managed to buy a bike this year?
I've managed to pick up two bikes in the opposite sizes of XL ( Cannondale) and XS ( cube) for my son and daughter in the £600 hardtail range from sunset and tredz. Was in framed cycles in llanberis the other day and he has got a good few bikes in his shop. He recently bought 20 different Marin bike...

Re: OT question for the over 50's.
I find that when your reaching these big birthdays you end up having to go through a period of acceptance. I find myself approaching 50 and already not being able to do as much as I did as a very fit 40 year old. I have a back problem and that is what is restricting me. So i tend to look more into t...
