How about something like this - can be had for less than £60 and still supplies all the drawbacks of a hooped bivvy  https://outdoorgear.co.uk/jack-wolfskin-gossamer-1-person-backpacking-tent/?sku=511400-01--BC-4065028161443&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAjeW6BhBAEiwAdKltMkxXDJX-yrGD8KI3l...

If you want to explore different things
There's the remains of a downed Halifax ( I think )
Unfortunately it hit glendhu hill in that area
Been on my hit list to do for some time now

GREEN BOTHY is closed indefinitely due to structural issues

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?
That's all been very helpful The fill power of the decathlon forclaz is 800 CUIN equivalent to 750 fill power of the ALPKIT pipedream which is about £50 more I can only assume the ALPKIT must be argued to have better finishing materials. Zipps etc Or maybe decathlon being larger company has better b...

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?
Maybe this screenshot helps more
Says there's 800 CUIN and relates it to " loft"
If it is 800 Fill power then that seems an awful lot for £170

Re: Ultralightweight 2season sleeping bag?
Thanks both
The serac 300 does have 300g of insulation
Could you advise what CUIN is as a measurement
I came across it in decathlons help to buy pages
Is it the same as Fill power but a different format for ultimate the same thing

Re: Tubeless pump?
It's not a pump..but more like a large Co2 canister
The MILKIT TUBELESS BOTTLE is a pressure tank same size as a bike bottle
They claim it can re seat tyres on the go
I've not got one but have the valves which are real good

Re: Flttingford bothy
I'm relatively new to this form of outdoor activity Done plenty of camping at sites I've realised how heavy water can be to lugg around I also noticed there's a water source at flittingford just by the bothy watch sign This source seems man made as there's a scaffold board restricting the run off an...

Re: Tubeless question
I just bought a MILKIT valve kit with injector
The valves are really good with no air escape with core removed
You could likely bodged an injector with a turkey baster
The valves are expensive but very good
You will also need a form of booster pump to blast air in as well

Re: Flttingford bothy
There was a low level signpost to it off the fireroad when I was last there 3 or 4 years ago. EDIT: as shown in pic in whitestone's BAM write up. The immediate area had been clear felled, so can't see it will have changed much since. I approached very laboriously along the (increasingly non-existen...

Re: Thermos mugs
I likely opt for the "cup" option I was not bothered about the straight from flask option and now I think it's just an extra payments for a devive that's not a huge benefit...I gave a camp cup with top on anyways that slides over the flask so it takes up no extra room ...I guess these drin...

Re: Thermos mugs
Thanks all for the information and recomendations Can anyone please square me off about the merits of the drink from the flask types as opposed to the cup types in that I'm expecting the contents to be really hot So hot that it is not possible to drink straight from the flask by pushing on a device/...
