FS: Tundra Pure -5 sleeping bag (SOLD)

Post by redefined_cycles »

This one https://www.tundrasleepingbags.com/slee ... re-minus-5

It's in standard 195cm length and is blue with RH . Used indoors (with the possible once or twice a little bivy) and in mint condition.

Selling cos I reckon it's -5 limit is probably not good enough for me (I get cold alot/quick). Tested by the Uni of Leeds apparently.

Pics on request and I'd say is suitable for big/wide people...

£250 posted but open to near offers.

Trying to buy my daughter a laptop so may as well see if anyone is interested in this at the reduced price of £185 ONO.

It's the Pure and Dry version in -5 which are now £450. I paid £320 for it in 2020 but that was during a limited time promotion which Tundra honoured (as the price had gone back up to £400 by the time I'd saved up).

Mine is a custom version which was extended to 195cm [actually, I think 195cm is standard and mine is actually 205cm, sorry] and the zipper on the right. It's blue with black foot box.

Shaf, if you still have this in a few weeks time, I may well be up for taking it off your hands. Just need my US tax return to come in...

Thanks Rivers. I actually thought of you when you posted your wanted ad. But then thought it might be too long for you (appears to be 205cm long and about 970g in weight).

Yes, indeed it'll still be here as I find it hard letting stuff go so was just using it indoors in the cold weathers. Let me know and I'll post you some pics via email when you're ready :-bd

Just to add. I went through my emails and correspondence from/with Chris at Tundra.

Yes. It does seem I did order a 195cm length. But recently measurements came up at 205. Might be in my head or they actually made me a longer bag. Either way, I've been very happy regardless

Thanks Shaf- to be honest, the only sleeping I own that isn't too long for me is a youth -6 degree bag I bought about 15 years ago. It's an absolutely brilliant bag (and warm), but it's synthetic and does not pack down small. Max height is 5'3" and I'm 5'2", so it really is a good size. Alas, I cannot find a good down youth bag. I'll be in touch when I get my tax refund!

Nah. They don't. AFAIK the proprietor classes that as a bit of a gimmick. But I'm not saying that, though I don't think I'd buy down coated.

Instead they use water resistant materials without seam sealing to keep the down dry enough. Sadly in all these years of ownership I've never got to test. Hence why it's probably an item I can let go of.

Hope that helps (if they did have down coated then he would most definitely have stated it, but his aim is to keep the down going for as long as poss so is happy to reuse the down in 20 or so years when it needs repuropsing into a new bag).
