Re: Front Bar Cradle

The salsa is fantastic and can be picked up for a lot less than 130 on eBay. This one ends soon and one ended on about 60 quid a week or so ago. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/297213056423?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=AIUyfV2JQ6G&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=WQ1djb49Qm2&...

Re: Mini Foot Pumps

I've had one of the lezyne ones for about 5 years and it's the only thing I've ever found that reliably gets road tyres up to 100psi without reducing me to tears. I always use the fold out foot thing and very rarely pinch my fingers. The only annoyance is the length of the thing, but it can be mount...

Re: Wanted - 3 season bag

Thanks for that - it's pretty much what I was thinking too. I've got a mountain hardware bag that has a comfort rating of -2 and I had a pretty unpleasant night in at -4 with a decent pad.

Re: Wanted - 3 season bag

Thanks. I'd kind of discounted them on the basis of the 0 degrees comfort rating - my wife sleeps pretty cold and I figure we'll probably have to tolerate the odd sub zero night in order to manage the bam. Would you say 0 degrees is about the limit in your experience? And how small do they pack down?

Wanted - grx 2x11 left hand shifter

Another pie in the sky request... I've just messaged to crack the reservoir on my new (to me) grx shifter. It's the 810 series and left hand 2x, but I'd consider 600 series and a pair if anyone has anything spare!

Wanted - 3 season bag

I'm trying to convince my better half to give the BAM a go with me and am after a cheapish, lightish and warmish sleeping bag for her. Anyone got anything that they were looking to move on? Upper limit of budget is probably about 150 and it'd be a bonus if it's long enough for me (at 6ft) to occasio...

Re: Any experienced hope rx4 users?

Rx4s were a royal main the arse for me, had two sets on two different bikes and had the same issues with both. The piston bores are tiny and were forever sticking, fully stripped down multiple times and relubed using the hunter silicon stuff they recommend only to end up back sticking again in no t...

Re: Any experienced hope rx4 users?

Thanks very much Hyppy, that's really useful. I've since discovered post mount frame to flat mount caliper adapters at a reasonable price on Amazon, so I may be able to use grx or ultra FM calipers as an alternative. That said, I've experienced the leaky piston Shimano curse, so I might swerve them....

Any experienced hope rx4 users?

Having picked up a 2nd hand partial grx group set, I'm in the process of replacing the SRAM rival set up on my gravel bike - neither the brakes nor gears have ever worked particularly well, due in no small part to my lack of mechanical nous. The brakes in particular have always been crap. I've tried...

[ I've got a box of mix and match Shimano MTB brake levers and calipers, some of which might be goosed, some may have the dreaded micro-leak and some of which might be fine. Levers should be ok. Free to a good home if you cover whatever it costs to post them with Evri - guessing somewhere between 5...

On One Geoff bars & ESI grips

Reasonably well used On One Geoff bars with the Extra-Chunky (I think) ESI grips. There are a couple of small tears on the grips and one of the end plugs has been lost to the ether. I've covered most of the rest of the bars (badly) with repurposed road bike-style cork ribbon, but it should come off ...

Also got a bashed up old set of Sram GXP cranks of indeterminate lineage and uncertain age, much like their current owner. 4 bolt, 175mm. Free if you cover cost of postage, or Sussex collection welcome.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

That's my understanding too - the deluxe has slightly lower output at lower speeds, but is a bit lighter then the 28 and has marginally less rolling resistance. It's pitched as being for road and gravel types, rather than tussock seeking hikeabike types. Should be perfect for audax?

Unlikely, but......

Having prevaricated and missed out on an eBay salsa exp toploader bar bag, I am now experiencing acute nonbuyer's remorse. A very long shot, but does anyone have one they're looking to part with? It's a 12 litre bar bag that opens at the top rather than the ends and it's designed to work well with a...

I'd agree James. I found them a bit too extreme for my roadie background and settled on cowchippers. Glad I scratched the itch first, though.

Cheap 29x3.0 xr4 on sport pursuit

Might have already been covered elsewhere, but sport pursuit are knocking out tubeless bontrager xr4 tyres for 24.99 and include 29 x 3.0. I've no personal experience of these and I've sold my rooster, but I remember that tyres in this size were getting harder to source.
