Kinesis hardtail frames/frame and fork bundles seem pretty good value starting at £390/£725. Naff all cage mounts, mind. https://kinesisbikes.co.uk/collections/mountain-bike

Some reductions on Exped mats ... although some are still far from cheap. When did mats get so dear?

Showa Temres 281 as recommended by Reg (and Andy Skurka, among others).
Partial bargain but more importantly they’re in the generally uk unavailable XXL size. The XLs are snug over normal biking gloves so I’m hoping these might be a little more toasty due to extra volume.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread

Anyone (old) remember that Haywards pickled onions advert on telly with Vincent Price?
Anyway, yeah, just bought a couple of pairs at that price. Website was a bit painful with the address fields so hopefully not a scam.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Possibly a cock up, or maybe just an unpopular spoke count, but 28h son delux 12 thru axle dynamo hubs available for £100 on hunt wheels site - https://www.huntbikewheels.com/products ... hole-black
Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Hunt have a few cheap wheels in their outlet, bought a set of their ebike enduro wheels 27.5 for £220, the Son may have fallen into the basket and they seem to be honouring the price

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
A Son 28 hub is just the model number, not the spoke count.... but the page on Hunts website suggested it's got 28 holes....

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
They had the delux, a 28h Son 28 and a Son 28 boost hub.
They’ve emailed me saying this was a website error and they should not have been for sale at that price.
Given it was only £100 I am wondering if I can live with a Son delux

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
I've a SON Deluxe. From memory I think they were rated for smaller wheels. A bit of searching found"
Mine was on my commuter i.e. road speeds so didn't really notice any problems.
Which seems to support that. The SON 28 dynamo hub delivers its nominal power of 3W from 15km/h, while the SON Delux reaches this power from 20km/h.

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
The receipt in the box said Son 28 28 hole
It's not what they sent
They even queried part of my order prior to despatch so odd they didn't just say something then
It's a PITA as I bought a 28h rim for it as well from fleabay

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
That's my understanding too - the deluxe has slightly lower output at lower speeds, but is a bit lighter then the 28 and has marginally less rolling resistance. It's pitched as being for road and gravel types, rather than tussock seeking hikeabike types. Should be perfect for audax?
