Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
I'll check out some of them. I have used RWGPS but not for this.

Editing gpx files - split & merge
I know this has probably been asked innumerable times before, but I'm having a bit of difficulty editing a route. I would like to end up with a file for a route which I have ridden in sections but not one go. I have three gpx tracks which cover the full length, and I would like to separate out the i...

Re: OT Heat Pumps and Solar
Not replacing existing gas, but renovation of an old stone built croft cottage. Installed ground source heat pump system. It only really works in this context if completely renovating including insulation to current standards and using an underfloor heating system. This is working well, house is usu...

There's a guy, Jake Williams, lives in Clashindarroch Forest in Aberdeenshire, also described as a hermit. He featured in a Ben Fogle documentary - 'New Lives in the Wild'. Also a short film by Ben Rivers called 'Two Years at Sea'. Probably not as extreme, he has a cottage on a forestry road about 3...

Re: Electric cars - impressive.
I'm with darbeze on this. Too many unknowns with electric vehicles: Battery materials and their disposal, provision of sufficient charging points, locations for charging points where they are needed. Electricity generation: wind power is not the answer. Unreliable, unpredictable, needs huge areas fo...

Re: Software for editing gpx files
@K1100T I am trying to build a gpx file for a long route from bits of other rides. In gpxstudio I can upload individual files and crop out the sections I need and can open multiple tracks at the same time. Haven't quite got the hang of merging these into one track yet, but, hopefully, just a questio...

Had a quick look at that. Looks promising for what I'm looking for. A bit of practice and I think I can use it. Thanks

@scotroutes
Thanks for the suggestion. slight difficulty is that I don't normally use Windows. My desktop and laptop do dual boot Linux/Windows but I haven't used Windows for years. If I don't find something else I could try this.

Software for editing gpx files
Hi guys, I'm looking for a website that I can upload gpx files to then edit them. I think I used to be able to do this with gpsies.com but that is no longer available. I want to be able to split a gpx file and join with another. I know this is technically possible by editing the xml code in the file...

Re: Running watch
Hi guys, after checking around I decided on a Garmin Forerunner 45. Found one for £125. Now wait for delivery. .Only downside might be import charges, it's a Danish website.
