Re: to norfolk
you could do something along the lines of: ridgeway icknield way boudicca way marriotts way bure valley path then via ludham to martham A whole lot of that route is off road You may want to straighten boudicca way a bit and marriotts way and the bure valley path take you the long way round but if yo...

Re: who rides Ti ?
I do. Have got a Genesis Croix De Fer Ti.
Also had a Van Nicholas Road bike up until a little while ago
Why - because there is nothing as good looking IMO
And it's light and rides well but these are secondary considerations to the aesthetic

Re: What tents do you lot use
I did my first tour with a forclaz 2 man "ultralight" 2kg tent. was a good bit of kit but then i decided that 2kg was too heavy. So I got a Terra Nova laser competition 1 which was very lightweight, packed small and seemed durable....but when sleeping it felt like a coffin and after one we...

Re: Harness V Cradle help

Re: Icknield Way and ‘Greater Ridgeway’
Yes It goes near lots of towns and villages but the route i took rarely went through them. Most of the time you are in countryside, i manged to stealth camp 2 nights, near Newmarket and Hitchin I found a great stealth camping spot just outside Hitchin, it was well hidden but at the top of a hill wit...

I had one for a few years
absolutely loved it.
Did road rides on it, Did BIkepacking on it, Even rode it round the Nurburgring
It rode great, was comfortable everywhere and good fun
Only reason I moved it on was I replaced it with a Titanium CDF because titanium...

I've done the whole Icknield way i started at home (Norwich) cycled down to Knettishall Heath and went from there through to Radnage, i was on the Ridgeway (i think it is) by then. I followed the GPS track that's floating around somewhere Its a lovely ride, i would recommend it There are lots of str...

I have found that it will send you down some lovely trails you wouldn't otherwise find
But it also imagines trails that simply aren't there and aren't even passable

redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 12:23 pm So would these racks (Nitto R14 or the Salsa) fit something like them nano bags (Revelate Nano bikepacking bag thingies for example) aswell??
possibly, but they are more suitable for strapping things to the top i think
they don't have much that would support things down the sides

Look at the Nitto R14
I have one, it's pretty much the same thing as the salsa, except for the fact you can actually buy it

Theyre willing to work with you pn strapping options and everyone thats had pne has always spoken highly of it (AFAIK)... O...

Re: Gravel bike gearing
when i built up my latest bike (a CDF TI) which is my main bike used for road and cross country general riding and also bikepacking I needed lower gears as my last bikepacking trip with a 50/34 compact really stressed my knee and resulted in too much pushing I wanted to otherwise keep my 2x setup so...

Re: Isn't 'Gravel' the same thing people used to moan about?
I think a lot of it depends on where you live, if you have good mountain biking near you, then the best job for mountain biking, is a mountain bike, 20 years of suspension and brake evolution was there for a purpose.... But, i find a lot of modern mountain bikes a bit sterile because of it, all the...
