10mm wide YKK Vislon Aquaguard. UK Supplier?
I need to replace the coil zipper on my frame bag and want to use a 10mm wide YKK Vislon Aquaguard one as the vislon zippers look much stronger than the coil zippers. Trouble is, I cannot seem to find a UK supplier for the 10mm wide variant. Anyone on here know of anyone in the UK who could supply 1...

Re: My 2017 Tour Aotearoa ride report (25 days)
Great tale there....as is your Divide writeup (was a bit sad to read the endless cycling broke you though). Greetz S. The Divide and the TA are so very different. The Divide was much more challenging mentally than the TA. Endless washboarded gravel roads, lack of civilization along the way ... The ...

Re: My 2017 Tour Aotearoa ride report (25 days)
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to reading. Trip is high on my radar for sabbatical in 3-4 years. When is best time of year to go? Still very much at dreaming stage, gets me through rough days at school. They recommend doing it Feb/March time for both weather and the fact it is a bit quieter as...

My 2017 Tour Aotearoa ride report (25 days)

It might help anyone planning on doing the race in 2018 http://onemanandhisbike.com/ta-2017 Feel free to ask any questions if you too are planning on do...

Ok, that is light. I'll investigate further.Bearbonesnorm wrote: Borah weighs about 200g and will scrunch down to the size of your fist.
Apologies, I meant non pu coated. eg, for the sleeping mat cover.Bearbonesnorm wrote: PU tends to be heavier as the coating is quite heavy and it's often coated on both sides.

Re: Materials for sleeping bag cover and liner?
That seems a little complicated when something like a large Borah bivvy will do exactly the same thing - keep your mat in place and keep any damp off your quilt without restricting your movement. Borah will also keep the insects out too. Anyway, I digress. If you do want to g down the MYOG route, I...

Materials for sleeping bag cover and liner?
After 3 sleepless weeks in a mummy bag last year I have decided I need to make a custom setup for my thermarest mat that will enable me to use quilts instead of mummy bags. My plan is to make a custom cover which I slide the thermarest mat into and which incorporates a full length zip down the side....

Albrecht Route next few weeks?
Decided I need to stop thinking and get doing! This route has been on my list for a while now and am planning on heading out ~ 7th August. The book says 7 days and I ideally would like to camp it along the way. Would be good to have some company. If you do fancy it please let me know as I want to ge...

Sarn Helen Trail or better option?
Hi All, I wanted to gauge opinion as to whether anyone here has a better option to the Sarn Helen trail ride that I was planning on doing (http://mbruk.co.uk/mbruk_SarnHelenTrail_details.htm) I have read on a number of forums that the Sarn Helen ride is plagued with sections that have been destroyed...
