Hi all, i love reading about everyone's Adventures so I thought I'd share my own from a hard weekend riding the Cairngorms loop.
Let me know what you think.

Good read that. Nice mix of adventure and trepidation
It's always interesting to hear how other folk view the area I ride in all the time and take for granted.
I can't believe you were worried about your accent in Aviemore though. Half the drunks would be English up on their stag/hen do's.

A great write up of a great ride. I introduced the concept of Type 2 Fun to the American guys, and at times this really was Type 2 fun, but other times pushing my bike through a bog I'd stop and tell whoever was listening that I was thoroughly enjoying the experience.
The Cairngorms Loop is definitely my favourite bike route

Thanks for that. A good read

Re: Cairngorms loop write up
I enjoyed that. It is interesting to see that Tomintoul claims the title of Scotland's highest village, when I have always known this to be Wanlockhead....

According to the ever accurate OS, Wanlockhead and Leadhills are 390-400 odd m depending on where you are in the villages. Tomintoul as around 350....
Whatever - Tomintoul seems positively homely when doing the loop and contemplating the steady climb up glen Avon. Well done and a good write up

Good read. I really must give the route a go one day.
Re: Cairngorms loop write up
I have no idea where I read tomintoul was the highest in Scotland, its the highest in the highlands in eithe case.
It was a great ride and I'd recommend it, I really had some dark moments but it always happens hey!
Cheers for reading
