Cairngorms Loop........nearly!

Post by HUX »

In a bid to get a few miles on the legs I headed up to Blair Atholl last weds to have a crack at the full loop. Day 1 10.30 start headed up to junction with inner loop then followed that. Camped at river crossing after Ryvoan bothy.60 miles.Image

Day 2 continued inner loop then into Aviemore for some food then followed outer loop into Abernethy Forest and camped after the river crossing.70miles.

Day 3 grey but dry start headed for food in Tomintoul and Braemar and off into the Linn of Dee. Started to rain about 6 and by the time I got to the turning into Glen Tilt it was dark, blowing a gale and I was soaked so I bailed out down to the road and into Pitlochry then bk up the N7 arriving back at the van at 10pm.81 miles
Everything worked a treat. No issues with new tubeless setup just the weather caught me out.
Overall a cracking route and a good trip. Long days in/off the saddle and I enjoyed every minute of it. Recommended !

looks good shame about the weather, nice pics
it's not that I can and others can't, it's that I will and others won't.
