Great write up, Dave. Interesting to read your experience and how it compared with my own. I'm now a touch disappointed I did Turini descent in the dark and didn't stop at that restaurant near the top.

Enjoyed that Dave, although I feel your experience of Italian cuisine would have been less disappointing had you undertaken some 'training' at the Golden Sands Chippy in Twyn first ... marmalde and ham would have seemed like a good combination after some interval training there

May the bridges you burn light your way

Good to know you enjoyed the Road of Death. Especially thoughtful of the Italian road maintance teams to repair those barriers with that special safety string.
We had a great time at the Resturant in Ponte Mamona. From the young guy having to phyche himself up before reading out the menu, responding to every question with the classic "it's possible" and delivering jugs full of panda pop, to the old guy offering to drive us to where we were staying for the night.
The section over Col de Preit was stunning and worth the journey over there just for that section.

Really enjoyed that, thanks Dave.
