On Sunday I rode this route:
https://www.strava.com/activities/592337680
The official route starts from Millers Dale but I started from Middleton Top just off the official route. It was a nice day out, nothing over technical, on a lot of familiar paths for those who know the area. I went a bit astray near Kniveton as I was using the maps from the website. I was travelling light but would be a nice overnighter over a weekend. Plenty of places to stop on what was the first half for me but less on the second half. I had a stop at the bike centre before climbing Chee Dale and an ice cream and cola at Wetton Mill.
There was plenty of little blue discs pointing the way but a few missing where you might need them such as leaving Manifold Valley.
I cycled it under the most trying conditions, a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday, and survived with sense of humour intact.
I would agree with this write-up:

Re: South Peak Loop
Cheers for the heads up. I'd seen it referenced somewhere else and wondered whether it was worth a look.
Re: South Peak Loop
Nice little ride, I did this in March. Did another Peak extravaganza this weekend, need to write it up. I did ride ride down GD at 12.30am Saturday, all was well.
PaulB wrote:I'll post this in the routes section later. I had the ride round the South Peak Loop (anti clockwise) earlier today. Memory Map exaggerated the climbing slightly, so 70 miles 2700m ascent just under 9000 ft. Just over 7 hours riding time, the slog up Gratton Dale was not pleasant, it's bad enough going down it. Could be done easily on CX bike so leaves the window open
and could be done in 2 day as there is plenty of opportunity to bivi in some nice places.

Re: South Peak Loop
I had a ride around this today , started at 5am to keep out of the sun.
nothing technical apart from all the people I had to dodge on the monsil trail. although it did get quite warm around 1 ish .
total just over 9 hours , not a bad ride overall may do it again slower and stop at a few cafes, but stop out for the night.

Been away for a few days and catching up so assume you are ok with the gpx from link above Mike. You can also use download from my Strava file in initial post.
The Monsal and Manifold trails can be busy on nice weekends but the rest is not to bad. Thinking of going round in clockwise direction later in the summer

Re: South Peak Loop
I just did it over two days with the family, camped out. My wife and daughter enjoyed their first taste of bikepacking. Really nice little loop.
