Another waterproof shell question (tsk!)

Post by ScotRoutes »

My faithful Endura Convert II has a lovely rip in the sleeve as a result of me attempting some elbow-skating in a very icy Aviemore last night. Looking around for a replacement, it would seem that it is no longer available, though there's a suspiciously similar Hummvee Convertible now. Has any seen/used both and could confirm this?

Alternatively, any other waterproof with removable sleeves you could recommend? Looking for a packable waterproof rather than a softshell.

TIA

I googled it; looks repairable to me since it's unlined.

Something like:

Tape underneath and patch on top. Or this: http://underfuse.com/

Yeah thanks.

Still be interested in answers to my original questions though.

If you do consider the repair route, these are used by quite a few manufacturers & do a really good job, using original fabrics were possible. Seen a couple of their repairs where they don't just patch a tear, but replace the panel, or part of the panel where the tear was. Not cheap though-

As a side note, they also do shoe/boot repairs & for those that like flats, they can actually put a 5-10 Stealth sole on to other types/makes of boot!

There's a small one on ebay in black for £35 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Endura-Conver ... 1733617415
