This just popped into my inbox. for those looking to use the phone as a gps and want turn by turn, a realistic option? I guess the phone can be kept safe and charging as you go for those of us with Dynohubs. Not a big fan of using my phone/gps that much when riding as the screen can be hard to see in bright light( yeh, I know, Scotland: but still) I am interested in this though maybe, given that it looks a lot like a bike computer in terms of display.

I'm guessing this wouldn't be much use for off road routes, unless you manually put in where you have turns somehow?

Can you imagine trying to plot a normal MTB route with any level of accuracy and the thing giving you instructions every few metres?

I admit I was thinking for more road based tours. Though I do wonder if you can import any GPX route that was created outwith Ridewith?

You can import any gpx etc into ridewithgps, and you can manually add cuepoints. I did exactly this for my first BB200 in 2013, I got the official gpx, added cuepoints about 20m before turns, especially ones that would be easy to miss. Then exported as a .tcx for my garmin 800. Worked a treat.

Good plan! I reckon I lot about 20 mins by not doing something like that given I was navigating by breadcrumb trail on an edge200 that zoomed out to show the whole route when you stopped
