Spin London show and new bikepacking luggage - Miss Grape
I went to the Spin London show earlier, billed as an urban bike show. Had some bikepacking related bits
It was great, small but good stands and really nice bikes on show. Picked up a few nice bits and tried out a couple of cargo bikes loaded up with my 2.5 year old daughter
Tout Terrain stand with some nices expedition bikes, including one with Apidura luggage on. Didn't know anything about this company - http://www.en.tout-terrain.de
Worlds smallest caravan on show, towed by a bike, will load up pics from my phone and post them up
On the Singular stand there was some bikepacking kit. It was attached to the Singular fatbike, and looked good
Reminded me of Revelate stuff but wasn't made of the usual VX21 fabric. They use some Italian fabric that is slightly softer but feels hard wearing, it's waterproof but the seams aren't sealed. Pricing seemed OK but at the upper end of the market.
The two guys I chatted to are Italian (and run the company), one of them is bikepacking his way back to Venice after the show! He's using his own bags obviously
We chatted a bit about the Tuscany Trail, which one of them has done before
This is the website - http://www.missgrape.net
They have a free shipping offer on till the end of the month from the show. I told them about this website, they didn't know anything about it

there are two glasses in the stand with the decanter in the caravan - but the bike isn't a tendem - guess that would mean one of you gets to lay in gthe caravan all day quaffing brandy and watching tv whilst the other does all the hard work - sounds great

Sorry. Miss grape. But the prices are outrageous!
Maybe its just me, but I think SOME bikepacking gear is way too overpriced for what you get.

I really like some of the frame bag's design, mainly the ladder-straps and shape with reflective detail at the front, but less keen on the colour. Works out at £65 or so, not too bad imo but they'd need to be good for that.
Re: Spin London show and new bikepacking luggage - Miss Grap
The ladder strap looks a direct copy of the Alpkit design.
Re: Spin London show and new bikepacking luggage - Miss Grap
The ladder approach in itself is used in many other luggage applications though, like MOLLE/PALS webbing

I have to agree on both statements.Justchris wrote:Sorry. Miss grape. But the prices are outrageous!

A few more photos and details here - http://road.cc/content/news/150926-spin ... bbin-rowan
Photo 28 and 29 are of the bikepacking luggage
But you can see photos of the cool bikes on show
It's a very tiny little bit like the bespoked event I guess

Looks like there would be even more hipsters at that one than bespoked.

I was the only person in there with a child under about 8
