Hi All,
I'm a relative newby to bike packing and signed up for the WRT and really looking forward to a few nights out. I'd be interested in heading out with some others. I did the west highland way over 2 nights last summer and a few over nighters in the highlands so not a total novice.
hopefully the gods of health and wellbeing will smile down on me come early may.
and i might be able to finally make one of Stuarts events, after 5 or so years of promising to do one.
so i might be up for riding with you Matt, or indeed anyone.
Just been let down by a mate who thinks a Stag weekend in a casino is better than roughing it in mid - Wales on a bike!
Another member of the Lonely Hearts Club signing in.
See you then!
Sorry to hijack thread but thinking of entering fromthe west of Ireland. Need to look at ferry etc. Wheres abouts the start and what time is it at as I am trying to figure out if it can be done as 3 nights away rather than 4 nights for "planning permission purposes". where can I find out these ddetails. Then might end up entering with maybe another rider. We won't have a clue so merrily being lost sounds good if we've company
The postcode for the start is SY19 7BH. If you sailed into Holyhead, it's around a 2 hour drive south to the start. The ride itself usually gets underway around 1.30pm, although the hordes will be faffing and panicing from around 9.30am onwards.
There'll be no shortage of potential company, oh and remember there's also the WRT-lite which sees you back on Sunday rather than Monday.
Anyone wanting to join in send me a PM with your email address, bivi experience, riding capability, if you like mild/bitter, etc.... and i'll get something sorted
As a COMPLETE newbie, could I join the "LHC" for WRT? Not got any / much kit so if someone could help me out with a few ideas, I have the money and time to do the needful...

Just empty your bank account into Stu's and I'm sure you will be ok for kit!!!!!!!
Doing the event for the first time. Not really a lonely heart as riding with a friend, but if anyone would like to join us you would be more than welcome.
I'll be riding solo but happy to ride with others.
Looking at bigger miles around 50+ miles, 80+ miles and then 40 miles to finish but only nipping into pubs for a pint and a meal and not pint after pint after pint like someone I know will be doing.
Bivi rather than bothy unless bad weather.
Drop me a PM if your interested.

Looks like my mate is going to be leaving me to be a solo rider ...if anyone is in the same situation please shout out
Once you get to the start just ask someone to point you in the direction of Chew ... he'll sort you out. Chances are he'll also fleece you for a quid too, as he'll be selling sweepstake tickets.
