I have a sora sti double shifter that clicks twice when moving the front mech far enough to change gear.
Video cliip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9-STZUzf-w
Going from small to large the first (not very loud) click, about half way through the throw, barely moves the mech and moves the marker in the gear window indicator thing a bit. A full (loud) click all the way to the end of the throw moves the mech lots and indicator moves much further in the window.
When moving back (big to small ring) the first click, halfway through throw, hardly moves the mech and the second click moves it "all the way".
It's definitely a double shifter as it says double on it.
Should I be sending it back?
2 clicks on sora double shifter, normal?

Hard to tell from the video but my 105 2x10 has a trim position so you can use the whole casstte in the small chain ring.

Re: 2 clicks on sora double shifter, normal?
I think it's normal as it is the "trimming" click, to fine shift the front when the rear mech is at one end of the block to avoid chain noise.
Re: 2 clicks on sora double shifter, normal?
That would make sense if the first click going big to little moved the mech enough to change into the small chain ring. I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't.ianfitz wrote:Hard to tell from the video but my 105 2x10 has a trim position so you can use the whole casstte in the small chain ring.
To be fair though I can't actually be sure until my new 11-34 cassette arrives and I stick the chain on. I want to be able to sell the 11-25 I have as new...

EDIT: now reading Steves response I get it. It's trim for both chain rings....

Defo trim setting pal I had the same confusion till my mate told me. It works a treat once set up.
