The prices are way off the scale for me.

That's what I was thinking - £6 for 500 calories. As a comparison, the Expedition Foods range is usually £6.50 and they do up to 800 calories (for 200g carried weight).

If your oven is accurate to 50c then just make your own dehydrated food.

Daal works particularly well. Youd get a lot for 6£!
