Footsies!

Post by scrumfled »

....since the slop season is approaching rapidly, its time to do some research (aka ask you mob).

Currently i wear shimano mt42's, which are great since they have a decent tread depth for scrabbling through crap and the cleat is pretty recessed so when i walk into a pub i dont slip around and sound like cinderalla. Their downside is they're ventilated, which i get around by wearing planet x neo overs (cracking stuff grommit).

So, I'm after a more 'winterised' version of those and so far the options seem to either have shitty soles.... or be full on hiking boots style. has anyone else found something decent?

Yeah i looked at both those options, the sole pattern didnt inspire confidence. How do you find them for muddy/slippery pushes?

I use the shoe version as well (the shoes have the two studs under the toe cup) but the boots dont. The shoe are not water tight OK for summer, both pretty good grip except river/burn crossing slippy on wet/green stone (I think most foot wear is) good level of flex in the sole stiff for cycling, OK for walking and I'm a size 11, speaking of which the sizing comes up fine so pick your usual size.

Northwave Gran Canion? I just bought a pair for the combination of waterproofing and sole grip.

Always been happy in Shimano mw80s (or whatever version they're on now).
