Post by SimonD »

Hello all,

I'm in need of a new bike. I have a low budget would this bike make an OK bikepacking bike?

I'd go for something with a rigid fork, as at that price point the sus fork will be heavy and not very effective.

My money would be here, this looks so good for the bargain price its at.
Big wheels, 44mm headtube and sensible axle to crown means youre not limited by fork fitment and can put suspensions forks on later. shimano Disc brakes should work pretty well too.

to be honest, it looked good value at full price

A mate has just bought that Ramin based on my suggestion. It looks really smart in the metal. As above I had trouble suggesting much else in that price range as so many bikes come with duff forks. It also comes with a decent pair of flat pedals. If you're not desperate to have a 29er then the Voodoo Hoodoo looks pretty good vfm.

isnt it just, I'm actually tempted to get one.

The only upgrades required are up the same product line to reduce weight.
Whoever pen'd and spec'd it needs a pat on the back (might have been a certain chap off here)

THanks for all the help - I found a Voodoo Bizango on ebay hardly used within my budget :-)
