CX disc wheels - owt better out there?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Searching for some disc wheels for an upcoming build. My initial thought was to buy some Superstar 29er wheels as I've got 2 pairs and they've been good, however, I'm thinking they might be a little overkill for what I need. I've spotted Shimano are doing 700c disc wheels that can be had a a fair price, anyone got any experience or opinions of them?

Is there anything else out there I should be looking at? Limited budget though ;)

Ive just bought some other cheaper wheels off him and they seem very good, although not as light as my older fulcrums

2165g the pair on those Shimano wheels. I think you could get that down a bit without sacrificing strength too much.

I recently bought a pair of these http://www.justridingalong.com/cl-25.html
(though can't afford spokes to build at the moment)
Are they too light and racy for your purposes?

I've got a set of Bontrager SSR Discs. They are reasonable quality and a reasonable price, seem pretty strong. They're not all that light though...
Work well for commuting duties mind. :|

In my defence, there was very little on the market available when I bought them. :geek:

Can anyone tell me what type of bearings Mavic use - cup and cone or sealed cartridge?
