He can't keep away can he?
Re: Tour Divide 2025
This will be his 3rd time, but he has put his name down about 5 times
Re: Tour Divide 2025
I'm intrigued by someone going to do it again (and again) when there are so many other big routes out there now.

I think Geof Blanche is going for a fourth run, his second on a tandem!

I imagine they might have had a great time and want to repeat, had a rubbish time and want to repeat or some variation on the theme

Same question, add in HT550/ 3PXCX / UTMB
Because people want to. Simple enough.

Re: Tour Divide 2025
up until the point you arrive at the aforementioned brewery, then stopping abruptly is fun too

Re: Tour Divide 2025
I drank a surprising number of beers on my TDR run. Was not as planned, but it was usually when chatting with locals.
I recall somewhere in Montana having food with NewRetroTom and having beers and burgers bought by locals. They really wanted us to stay and chat. Stupidly we opted to ride and then sleep on the side of a dirt road

Re: Tour Divide 2025
Who in their right mind would ride straight past the brewery in Fernie, or the Route 66 Junkyard in Grants, or a night on the piss in Silver City and lots more in between. A Tour Divide attempt should take 7 to 8 weeks, then, if you're going to make full use of the 90 day visa, head across to Arizona and up to the Grand Canyon. Most people only get one chance at it, why waste it?
Re: Tour Divide 2025
We spent a good few hours in the Elevation Brewery in Poncha Springs after a morning in the Hospital in Salida.
As others have said if I went back to do it again I'd take a lot longer and enjoy various diversions along the way.
