Rotor recommendations

Hi, I’ve got TRP spare brakes on my vagabond and was after 160mm rotors recommendations. Any thoughts or some I should be checking out? Cheers, Rob.

Worth checking what rotor thickness your trp's need, as they vary between some models. Some TRP's are the more common 1.8mm so can use shimano and many others. Some TRP's use 2.3mm. You might not notice, but there might be differences in feel and what happens when pads/rotor wears...TRP rotors themselves seem pretty nice and reasonably priced (Merlin tends to have good prices).

It's all much of a muchness to be honest - disk thickness won't matter in terms of set up, just how long they last. I suspect there are differences in stainless steel quality but I generally find solid disks warp long before they wear out. If you are feeling flush, Hope disks on the alloy carriers are very good - I'm still using two bought in 2010 and they are about a micron within the wear limit. They tend not to warp either being semi floating

Adding to the above, I think shimano Rt76 or the slightly fancier RT86 are my favourite fit and forget. They last ages, and the carrier helps with weight and hopefully warping...

Make sure the depth of the rotor is greater than the pads? I tend to go for the old Avid G2 CS pattern or the Clarks copies of them, they don't have the odd pulsing feel that some wavy rotors have. Can't go wrong with Shimano either.
