RIP my Dirty Harry - now what?

Not Clint, but my 2013 Planet X Dirty Harry that I've cherished from a very early age.....

After numerous BB200/300's, 4 x HT550's, 1 x Tour Divide and lots of smaller stuff (over 20,000km) the chainstay has decided it's had enough.

I repaired the carbon a couple of years ago, then again just before the Tour Divide, but on the Dirty Riever in Kielder on Saturday it's developed a big crack. Despite me lavishing love and fresh paint last year, it appears I was only painting over the old damage and the crack is back.

So, what shall I replace it with?
I want: carbon, short head tube, 29er, hardtail, light, racey, small frame size, tapered head tube, maybe QR or bolt through rear (will be rehubbing the rear wheel at some point). Price is sort of an issue as I also want a sparkly new road frame soon. Might be happy with Ti but not sure I want to pay Ti prices.

Really like my Trek Procaliber but not sure how easy it is to source the frameset. Brilliant bike though, the rear end is very comfortable.

Sorry to hear that Slarge. I'm quite liking my SC Highball (though I'm yet to ride it ). Hope you find a nice decent replacement soon and a nice list of medals the PX (and yourself) managed to accrue

I recently picked up a lightly used new style whippet. Did a big 9hr ride on it shortly after I built it - I really like it
Decently light, nice and stretched out, not silly slack, climbs really well.
Not stupidly expensive either so I don't feel I have to worry about putting bags on it or mistreating it.

Im pretty chuffed with my Hunt. I’m not sponsored by them, but I bang the drum of “buy a Hunt” because I like it. A lot. Also, not carbon. I’ve had many and don’t miss them.

Me too.

I actually bought the base level carbon procaliber as a fully built bike cheaper than the frame only option at the time! (Then proceeded to pretty much change everything)

Got me a new bike - a Trek Procaliber 9.6. Picked it up today, fitted pedals and 50km later its really put a smile on my face!
Needs a new pedal though - the trusty pedals I fitted have now gone to pedal heaven - the axle locknut sheared off (known XTR pedal issue from many moons ago).
