Seat stay rear light recommendations?

After having lost two expensive clip onto the seat pack rear lights in the last 12 months I need a more permanent fixture. Any recommendations for reasonably priced ( sub £30 ) USB rechargeable rear lights that are designed to mount to a seat stay?

I’ve used the Alpkit Tau lights to keep me visible to traffic over the last couple of years and can’t fault them. Good price, battery life seems good, USB rechargeable, multiple flashing modes and two different length rubber bands to provide a secure fit regardless of tube size. I use the smaller band to secure the rear light to my seat stay or saddle pack (and the front version on my bar bag).

After I lost two lights on one trip in a similar manner, I just went with a Cateye Omni 5 - not usb but you could buy 3 for the 30 quid limit and hot swap the lights with fresh batteries while leaving the mount on the stay.

I've been using a Smart R2 in that position for years. Have both the USB and AA powered tyres, work great

Have you got a braze on for a rack/mudguard? If so I made a great little mount on my vagabond using an old disc brake adapter that positioned the light just above the cassette.

I'm very pleased with my lezyne strip drive - compact, rugged, easily attached, rechargeable, bright - but they seem to have changed the appearance, so I couldn't say which one of the several models that I have...

I got one of these after someone mentioned them on here. Only had light and dry use so far (so ignore anything I say ) but I like it. Small, bright, easy to attach in a number of places with a range of bits to do so.

Maybe you just need a lanyard on whatever light you get (think Exposure Joystick etc) as a failsafe? Whether a small light on a bit of string dangling around your rear mech, wheel etc actually is a "failsafe" .........

Thanks for the input, team. I dropped by my LBS and picked up a Cateye Rapid Micro which I'll fit some kind of lanyard to.

thats what i use. enough adjustment to fit most chainstays. takes aaa which is a plu for me. batteries last ages

No worries. I might get one of those too. I was in pretty desparate need as the roads round here are bloody awful for cycling and I feel even more nervous without a rear light.
