Bearbones snoods
Reading Sean's bivy report for this month I noticed the MBR snood in the picture. These are the only magazine freebies that last. I currently have Cycling Plus, MBR and Mountain Bike Rider snoods and they are all still going strong. I use the Cycling Plus one nearly every ride
Can we have some snoods Stu? I'd definitely pay. I know you'll say you've done them before but I'm old and forget these things or wasn't there.

I've got three buffs, but I'd buy another. You can never have too many as they're so useful. Synthetic though please, the merino ones get holes in them too easily.
Re: Bearbones snoods
I'm pretty sure there were some from a winter event? I wasn't at that event though
I'd also have a BB buff (not a snood, that's TOTALLY different
)
You can never have too many, I reckon I have double figures. Dotted around in different places, found one the other day I'd forgotten about when I put my buffalo smock on, was tucked in the pocket. Have 4 merino ones but agree that the normal ones are probably more use

In that case, I'm pretty certain I have an unused BB buff/snood around here somewhere because I've got two. The yellow fluoro ones with a fleecy bit and a not fleecy bit. Do you want it Dave?

I thought a snood was bigger and looser and worn by those who wear big girls blouses, Also available in acrylic.thenorthwind wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 6:21 pm Hang on, what's the difference between a buff and a snood?

I hope you think you know, what I might of exactly meant.

I thought to myself, was there a selfie in the report with me wearing it? Then I remembered Ralph slept in itDave Barter wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 5:06 pm Reading Sean's bivy report for this month I noticed the MBR snood in the picture.

A Bearbones one would be cool

I'll take two snoods, two buffs and two neck tubes, Cheers,
I'm just going outside ...
Re: Bearbones snoods
Seems they're also known as neck gaiters in the USA, though I know them as buffs. I'd be interested too.
Re: Bearbones snoods
Yes I'd have one as well.
I have hundreds of them about the place, my mum keeps buying them for me, same with socks, and various types of bags ... Not sure how quickly she imagines I wear them out?!?
But a BB one would be grand.

Definitely need a BB snood... when I call in for my mid-ride/post-ride cafe stop it'll double as the required facemask.
Wait for me...

Sorry Dave, having sucked you in, I can't bloody find it. If I come across it, it's got your name on it (not literally, unless your name's Bearbones Bikepacking that is).

Re: Bearbones snoods
Dave,
I have a flouro yellow BB (embroidered in black) snood/buff/neck tube gaiter you can have if you want?
It's like the Polar Buffs. Half fleece, half regular material. I have never worn it, (well, only to try it on).
I can meet you near Cantina in Goodrington on Friday morning if that suits you?
I shall be on the bread delivery ride. About 09:30 or so?
Cheers,
Si

Thanks Si but I'm going to hold out and see what Stu comes up with. This week is a work/Shoalstone Pool nightmare for me

Re: Bearbones snoods
The previous Bearbones ones were half fleece have knitted buff type fabric. We have quite a few of them in the house
Would be up for a plain buff type version, merino if possible
Wrapped in eco friendly wrapping and hand delivered by stu on a donkey ( thought if I was being ridiculously demanding I'd better run with it

Re: Bearbones snoods
Can't have enough buffs. Current favorites are Inov8 Wrags as they seem a bargain for the two-packs on Sportshoes.com. But if Stu does some I'd be interested. Buff used to do custom stuff but the minimum order was a bit steep and I think Endura might do some too (think they do Hope's). However, there are subtle differences and the Wrags or Buffs are the nicer, softer, stretchier ones, again IMO.
Not a fan of merino, or the dual material / fleece ones. I run too hot. Also agree merino not durable given my experience with On One and Buff versions.
This (IMO) is a "snood" and anyone wanting or wearing one should be put to def immediately

Wenchie, that's the funniest thing on the forum for years. The image I have in my mind cannot be unimagined and my ribs are aching from the giggle fit. Keep it up mate.adjustablewench wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 11:02 am Wrapped in eco friendly wrapping and hand delivered by stu on a donkey
