BB 200 OS Explorer maps
Is it pushing it to ask which OS Explorer maps I might need to buy to cover BB200 this year? It’s kind of too late once the route is published.

…. I don’t object to buying a few more than needed if you want to keep an air of mystery

Lovely bit of forward planning there Stu
No problems.
I have all the 1:50,000 maps I should need and now you’ve given me all the permission I need to over buy the Explorer’s

I'm pretty much there with the 200 route but just a little unsure about a section that would push things over onto another map.Lovely bit of forward planning there Stu

Will there be a Spotwalla Spot Tracker Map that we can add our trackers too this year?

Re: BB 200 OS Explorer maps
Nope and I'd ask that no one sets up any public on-line tracking for Oct as that will then put Nov riders at a potential advantage / disadvantage. Will there be a Spotwalla Spot Tracker Map that we can add our trackers too this year?

Re: BB 200 OS Explorer maps
I dont want to tempt fate (doh to late) but the weather in the run up to BB (around mid wales) is looking dry so far!!!! Hoorah!

Re: BB 200 OS Explorer maps
I'd imagine it would need to be properly dry to get over all this recent rain, but I've not been in the area recently so I couldn't say for sure.Alexinthepeaks wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 11:33 am I dont want to tempt fate (doh to late) but the weather in the run up to BB (around mid wales) is looking dry so far!!!! Re: BB 200 OS Explorer maps
When I was in Keswick recently the Oxfam shop had a whole bunch of old OS maps for mid Wales so I picked up a 7 sheets. Hopefully when the BB 200 route gets put up Ill be able to plot it on the sheets. Better use of time than another Netflix series!
Is there a date when the October BB 200 will go out to riders?
Cheers

the road won't have changed, unless the was a funding delay, so there's a few more Roman roadsoutonmybike wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 10:43 pm the Oxfam shop had a whole bunch of old OS maps for mid Wales so I picked up a 7 sheets. Re: BB 200 OS Explorer maps
Related, does anyone have a good option for Garmin maps? I'm sure I used BBBike last time but when I put them on my Garmin they don't seem to be loading.
Maybe I'm selecting the wrong type?

They used to be the best, but if you actually try to get one now you notice that there are something like 80,000 requests in the queue. Tis dead.In Reverse wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:17 pm I've got them off here for years Rich and never had a problem.

Cheers. I went with this one for now as I didn't fancy paying until I've got time to properly check them out.ledburner wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 8:20 pm try https://talkytoaster.me.uk TT HD mapping

Re: BB 200 OS Explorer maps
The Garmin link is a bit odd, you select "tiles" and the system builds a map for you. I used it for the maps for my 520 as that device is limited in the file size so you need to add/remove tiles until it shows something suitable.
For everything else I've used openfietsmap, got a few countries on the Oregon.
