nice idea, but £30 seems a bit steep. i just watched a youtube clip of it and it sounds like an airbus taking off (well it would be out in the wild) :D
i quite fancy trying a MYOG copy of the TAR pump sack out of an adapter 'piece' and a drybag combo... hmmm, project for the weekend!
Having been underwhelmed inflating my xtherm with the standard sack I bought the 40l pump sack and it inflates it waaaay quicker. I'd have been tempted by the gadgety ness of this had I known about it though. Having said that, it's a bit single purpose though.
Yeah, mine inflates fine with me blowing into it but I'm worried ill fill it with mould & scupper the warmth rating. The standard pump sack is worse than useless. Having said that, I think you're easily tempted into putting too much air into them.
I wouldn't be happy carrying something as single purpose as that when i'm already carrying my lungs which will do the job, even if you it does make you feel a bit :?
Time would be better spent getting the miles in instead of fretting about how many ml of meths to carry...
Just a slight aside ... has anyone else noticed moisture in their mat even when blowing it up with a pump bag, etc.
A couple of times last week I noticed condensation on the inside of my Synmat even though I'd used Expeds bag to inflate it. I suppose that even 'dry' air contains enough moisture to condense given the right conditions which are just what a mat experiences when it's sandwiched between a warm body and the cold ground.
I made my own pumpbag/schnozzel for the exped synmat using a washing machine hose connector and a 40l bin bag - it only takes 3 fills of the pumpbag to blow up the airbed - not bad for a cost of about £2 and it weighs next to nothing 8-)
I'm not sure of the exact diameter but I think the hose connector I had was the same as this :

Yetiman's synmat does the same thing. I could see moisture in the head and foot areas the morning after a bivi.
Not noticed it in my downmat but that's made of a less see through material.
