Hey,
I'm about to start a two week highland bikepacking trip and would like to take a fishing rod - does anyone have any recommendations on a good, light weight, compact/collapsable fishing rod that they've used while bikepacking before?

I haven't fished since I was 15, but I seem to remember all sorts of legalities, licenses etc...
This might be a good place to ask questions though

Re: Fishing
I thought about this a couple of years ago after camping at the side of a llyn that was full of trout. I searched about on-line and came up with these which are cheap (and possibly nasty).

Or these which looks better quality.

I should point out that I know nowt about fishing

Re: Fishing
You will struggle to beat this for quality and price. I've got 1 and a Fladen 100 reel and will also be up in Scotland sometime next week so if you see some-one looking totally battered towing a BOB Yak then it could well be me!!! I intend to try and catch dinner. Tight lines!

Re: Fishing
Thanks all for the replies.
I had clocked the penpole on amazon (bit flimsy but nice and small) but hadn't come across HUX's suggestion which looks great! I think I might pick one up - can you give me some idea of how long it is when its all broken down?
Looks like I'll need to pick up some lures and a reel but all in all it shouldn't cost too much, fishing as it turns out is a cheap sport to get into!
