Swaps: crank bros long release angle cleats for your short release?

Post by redefined_cycles »

I've some 1 or 2 rides old crank bros cleats. But the release angle is about 16 degrees which is too much for me with 6 degrees of float.

I don't plan on buying fakes of Amazon* as Oye explains here how the gaffer at Amazon is actually even more disgusting than I thought. Profiteering by stealing other peoples ideas on the Amazon platform then helping them go bust whilst he takes over their USP  (hate people like that, almost as much as I hate Macron and the chinese govt for their muslim hate).

Anyway, so I plan to get originals or not from Amazon at least. Bit expensive though and can't afford another set for £20ish quid I paid from Wiggle. So...

a. Anyone got a link for some cheapies that's not via Amazon

b. Anyone got some originals but want more float or release angle and wishes to swap??

*Gonna try my best to phase out buying from Amazon, full stop...

Do they still allow release angle to be changed by swapping the cleats onto the other shoe? All mine have the two dots on one cleat and not on the other.

Yes thwt do Colin. The one's I got are 16 degrees currently. Can be swapped to make a wopping 20 degrees. Why someone would need to go that far to release I'm not sure. Most likely it might give extra float...

I have the easy release ones and with my dodgy knees these are the ones I use, sorry.

Aha. No worries. I'd have thought that with dodgy knees you'd want more float which the bigger release angle gives? Just out of curiosity. Thanks

I find the lesser release angle doesn’t cause me knee pain for some reason.
