Re: Hacks & Bodges
cannot do photos but i fitted my front mudguards by attaching one side to the DT swiss bolt though handle and the other side to a 90 degree wall bracket [ cut short ] and attached to my lower flat post brake mount- its as stable as if done properly
its the best executed bodge I have ever done 1
Edit: Having watched love the wooden bike , handlebar thing looks overy compicated andliek it would foul wheel on full travel the last one - filler and unimportant

I’ve often wondered why people mount their bars like that.

Re: Hacks & Bodges
There is a chap who often cycles the Bristol to Bath railway path and he has tri bars clipped to (and you have to imagine this) the bottom of sort of backwards pointed butterfly bars.
The effect is that his arms are effectively through the butterfly bars, and his face is inches away from them. I often wonder how much damage he would do if he crashed, because he would snap his forearms and lose his teeth pretty much for starters!

Re: Hacks & Bodges
Please tell me that's the threaded bar from an old headlock. Have you actually found a sensible use for one?

Nice. Did you turn the handle? The wood looks very green.

A random long Allen bolt and part from an old Allen key quick release.
The handle was just a bit of hazel off cut that was probably cut this summer so still green ish - someone usually burns through them with the gas cooker hob so I’ve made a few.
No turning - just a belt sander.
