I've just put Barry (south Wales) to Bognor Regis into the Cycle travel site and it produced a route 181 miles long with 2.5 mile of busy road, 119 miles of paved road, 57 miles traffic free and 1.7 miles unpaved.

I've blindly followed their routes before when I've simply wanted to get from A to B quickly with minimal off-road. Always found them to be accurate and generaly pleasant to ride. They will aim to keep you away from busy roads and can often be shortened a little if you're willing to include a few sections.
