I want to mount my cages to the front forks but there are no lugs.
On my carbon forks I could probably get my lbs to fit lugs as they do to carbon road frames, but would there be a problem if I used hose clamps - crushing the carbon legs, or the like?
Any thoughts or advice gratefully received. :)

So long as you're careful with the hoseclamps I don't really see a problem.
These however, work very well and will fit nicely around carbon forks.

Thanks for that Stuart. I've got one of those in the garage and never thought of it.
Cheers

I had one of those decathlon jobbers on a fork and it slipped around like hell, got the bottle smacking against the spokes a bunch of times. I'm not sure how old it was though, the rubber might have lost it's elasticity. Either way, I prefer hose clamps by an order of magnitude.

What forks were they on Tanglefist? I used them for a good 18 months on some Exotic carbons, almost had to wrestle them off when I'd finished.I had one of those decathlon jobbers on a fork and it slipped around like hell, got the bottle smacking against the spokes a bunch of times. I imagine a bit of inner tube wrapped around the fork leg would help prevent slipping?

Just Rockshox Toras. They were second hand when my mate got them, and lent them to me, so it's possible they'd been kicked around a fair bit. What forks were they on Tanglefist? I used them for a good 18 months on some Exotic carbons, almost had to wrestle them off when I'd finished.
