Hi Folks
Yes its that time of year again. Planning is in full swing, route has been revised and we have a few new bits and bobs to announce soon.
I'd just like to remind you, the Moors 100 is still free to enter. If you want to camp out on route then there is no cost. The £30 ticket gets you into High Paradise Farm at the halfway point and covers camping, hand made pizza from the wood fired oven (i had 2 last year, they were bloody lovely!), a craft beer when you arrive, a breakfast roll, tea, coffee, bike wash and access to tools and a mechanic, Alpkit and Sonder are bringing a pop up store, demo bikes and will be giving away a few freebies, plus hopefully bringing a few Alpkiteers along to do talks and a film show in the tea room, there will also be a (really good) live band in the court yard this year. I'm also trying to blag some goodie bags, stickers etc too for each rider. You can camp anywhere on the farm, in the trees, surrounded by chickens and i'm sure there are damp ditches for the hardcore to enjoy.
So yes, its not pure 'suffering in a ditch' bike packing, but for £30 you would have to be a little mad not to join in. The social bit is all part of the fun for us. Its a bit of a bargain and unlike most events we don't get a penny from that (so feel free to buy me a pint if you like). If you just want to ride and do your own thing, thats cool, just let me know.
Dead chuffed with the route. The old favourites are still there, theres a new bit through the Cleveland Hills that gets rid of that horrible push up Raisdale (but we still get that fast 3 mile down hill along Arnsgill Ridge), and day two has more gravel and less tarmac. In fact there is only around 5 miles tarmac over the two days this year!
Oh, and i'm pretty confident we will have a special guest this year, doing the full route and doing a talk on the saturday night. No promises yet, but I'm working on it
I look forward to seeing all the old faces and the new. I've always said that putting a line on a mp is easy, its you folks that make these things special, so help us make this one an extra special year.
Cheers

I say I'm in, but my time off (one day) may not be granted from work, not like it isn't far enough away from now is it...

I’m in
I’ve not ridden in that part of the country and the social side should be fun.

We’re all individuals, except me.
I woke up this morning but I’m still in the dark
