Might be of interest to a few here ... GBH, 999, Discharge, Vice Squad and the Violators to name a few will be playing. Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May.
It certainly does. Sadly no passes here either because have used one tonight. Just on train on way back from the Undertones at Camden Electric Ballroom. Superb they were of course. In fact since it's now Friday, by a minute or so, I'll claim a 'cheery Friday' - possibly the earliest ever!? . Also 2-tone Neville Staple Band which isn't really my thing but they were good fun and gave it their all.
Front row, mosh pit, chest squashed to buggery, pogotastic, 60 years old. What am I doing. Almost as ridiculous as sleeping in ditches at my age.
On the subject of music, I was reading the stooge cycles blog and he had a section about favourite music.
I like stooge even more knowing the name came from THE Stooges
This is one of my favourite of the recommendations
Fucking hell are they still kicking around? I had no idea. Early 90's punk pop ... my music Reg, as you know. Those of you familiar with my work will know I grew up in Aussie. And all the music me and my mates loved in the 80s and 90s was coming at us from the UK. We enjoyed our pub bands, from INXS to Midnight Oil and the Angels - but by the Baby Jeebuz, we sat on the wireless for hours tuned into UK stations for the sounds that were shaping music.
Well I've ended up collecting pretty much all the Utones vinyl - pricey stuff now - so when we (finally - in 2020?!) have our BaM I'll bring the portable bikepacking phonograph along and we can have a session! I guess my idea of gig heaven might be the Undertones playing Workington Working Men's Club! . Wish I'd told you about Camden now, ah well next time.

What a great idea. Just had my 70's & 80's songlist playing in the van - stiff little fingers, stranglers, jam, skids, husker du, even some dead kennedy's, buzzcocks and of course the undertones. Proper heaven.
