Mudguards for carbon forks

Those of you with carbon forks, in particular monocoque style ones with no room for a bung underneath, what are you doing mudguard wise?

I have a crudcatcher to go on the downtube but want something to protect my face from mudsplatter. My mudguard from my salsa steel fork won't work

Thinking about a neoguard rigid or something like an enduroguard, though not sure how well the latter fits. Protecting the bottom bit of the headset from grime would be a nice benefit

Yep - Enduroguard.

TBH, once a bar bag/roll is fitted the amount of face splatter is significantly reduced. The guard does help keep the bag clean/dry though.

True, although I haven’t used my bar roll for my last few rides! Have used seat pack and rucksack

Plus local rides are very muddy from around October onwards

I find a long one of those + a crud catcher stop most of the crap

I've found a front mudhugger, being rigid and shaped, gives better protection on a rigid fork- because the flexible style ones get pulled relatively flat where the fork arch should be giving the shape, you end up with room for the side knobs to fling mud out forwards.

Are you guys fitting your mudguards against the fork crown or 'floating' above the tyre. I have quite a bit of clearance between tyre and the crown, c. 3 inches

I have a "floating" Mudhugger on rigid forks.

I've got one of these on my SIDs and it's pretty good. Assuming your rigid forks have as much space in the crown of course to fit one.

I am experimenting with a Mudhugger Race front on the Fargo forks and a Crud on the down tube.
I need a spacer to allow my Lion bar bag harness straps to pass between the mudguard and the fork once the zip-ties are done up.
Not got the mudguard to sit properly yet and nearly doubled its weight with zip-ties.

My mudhugger is held on with 4 zip-ties. It's far enough away from the crown that straps aren't restricted. I'll try to get a decent photo when I'm home this evening.

I use a muckynutz facing forwards with a crud catcher to collect the stuff flipped up at the back. Works well for me

A Mudhugger (Well it's a fat hugger). Works brilliantly in all weathers.

I use a rear crudcatcher, with the attachment arm thingy removed and then zipped tied on.
