Weighing things

I bought one of these... only £10.98 incl delivery

but it is inconsistent in its readings. I put a new battery in today to rule that out. It just gives so many different readings... even weighing my bike

I want to weigh small items too... as little as 30g

Am i asking too much to expect weighing from 30g to upto 50kg ? (that's its limit)

Anyone recommend anything useful ?

I’d say you’re expecting too much, I’d weigh my luggage with that or my bikes, but wouldn’t weigh things that are as low as 30g.

Are you holding it whilst weighing or is it strapped to something? That will account for some inaccuracies

Mine too. I think they were £12. Made by Salter, accurate to the nearest 5g, I suspect, and easily copes with 5kg. I don't have a bag that weighs more than 5kg.

I was comparing 29er and plus wheel weights on the kitchen scales the other week. Worked a treat.

Sometimes I weigh the entire bike and kit on the bathroom scales, but that's all I've needed.

Just ordered Salter kitchen scales for £15 (come in handy for cooking as well as TLS )

For fully loaded bike - bathroom scales 1) me 2) me + fully loaded bike

For heavier items I have a cheapo luggage scale. I don't know how accurate it is, but if it's out, it's only as far out as the luggage scales used at airports as it consistently measures the same as them.
