+1

Cheddar Man appears to be wasted on here. Maybe someone could introduce him to STW  as he'll give them a right good run for their money. The (both*) poems should be published btw. Amazing poetic skills (and no need for pandas either)...
* i.e. Stu's one and CMs second one. Wasn't very impressed with the first to be fair as I don't think good poetry is designed for insulting... defending maybe. Interesting fact: the arabs at the time of Muhammed (sallallahuAlayhiWasallam/PBUH) getting his prophethood were at the peak of the art of poetry. Some of the best ever. He (PBUH) wasn't and had no real interest in it...

I'm here forever RIP, you know, like when you spill milk on the carpet in your car but don't notice until several days later and the smell is already there .........

A real bikepacker called Reg
prefers to sleep in a hedge;
his thoughts misconstrued
by someone who's rude,
Reg did it to keep them on edge.

Back to the original post, I spoke to Dave Greenan at Buxton Fringe a few years ago. Nice chap, I enjoyed his poetry, it's funny and it scans properly.

Last one from me ...

There was a bikepacker called Dave
Who liked a good rant and a rave
He'd cuss and he'd swear
Pull out his hair
And now he's as bald as an eagle.

Sorry Dave.

Keeping bikepackers out of
Every normal persons sight
Peddlers, pushers
And hammock sleepers
Campers, dampers, fire out stampers
Koran quoters, Bible bashers
Inclusive? Maybe, sometimes
Not always I fear, but it's
Good to know that you lot are here

Clever....
Wish I could rhyme....but I can't...

Echo the "good to know that you lot are there" - what did I use to waste my time on before I found this forum I wonder?? Definitely helping me stay sane at the moment....

There was an old bugg3r called Stu
Who sat in a ditch for a poo
Disturbed by a farmer
He escaped on a lama
His whippet consigned to a zoo

Ooops! I read that last line as 'His Mr Whippy consigned to the loo'

Due to religious preferences there'll be no pubstops or alcohol or ladies (or girls or women... whatever the felame of the species that might be reading prefers to be called :-bd )...
I don't know what to say about that sentence, it's absolutely outrageous and breaches your code of professional conduct if you are really a nurse! You may just want to re-read 20.2, 20.3, 20.5 and 20.7. Oh, and before you ask, professionally my job role is described in my contract as 'Senior Nurse Manager'.

Replace 'ladies' with any other group in society and see what happens! Or would you be happy with a 'No Muslims' rule on events? Oh, and your explanation is nonsense too.

I haven't really been round here that long, but I do wonder if letting this sort of pseudo-religious bollox go unchallenged is one reason why the huge predominance of posters on internet forums are male?
I'm just considering whether Cheddarman's use of the term "nobjockey" constitutes homophobia; whether such attitudes are acceptable in bikepacking; whether his homophobia, when compared to his view on Redefined_cycles' desire for an all-male cycling troupe as being "sexist", constitutes hypocrisy towards protected characteristics and what his employer's view of his attitude would be 🤔.

TBH, I've no idea of the etymology of "nobjockey". It's not a word I've actually heard much and I don't think I've ever used it myself. But words are nothing without context. I might call someone a clint and they would be offended but in parts of Scotland that would almost be considered a marriage proposal.

There once was a whippet called Barter
Who fancied himself as a farter
His guffs were so loud
They drew a large crowd
Who said they smelled of tomater

Tried my hardest to find something snoring related but I'm no Simon Armitage

An aged expatriate Dunc,
Fell asleep in his temporary bunk,
The sound of his snoring.
Was worse than hole boring,
He should maybe repose in a trunk

urban dictionary and wikipedia has it as a term for a homosexual man

I see no other way its can have originated
as per any term regarding gay its never used in a positive way and its not something i would ever use probably say nobhead

Its also one of those""acceptable terms" "and most folk who say it are not being intentionally homophobic but its best avoided IMHO
