Mine was supplied with a 49" one which is correct isn't it?

Alrought pushing it in a couple of inchs won't help I guess
Yeah the latest models have a height of 49" ... so really, that's the minimum you want your pole to be.

Peg out the 2 front corners first, then the rear centre. Now put your pole in place and peg out the main front line. Peg everything else out and re-tighten as required. You're aiming for a good big gap under the front and at least a 2" everywhere else.

The standard Easton poles do flex ... it's quite scarey in a stiff breeze. Obviously there are solutions

It's a great tent but the carbon pole I ordered with it was way too flexi, I sent it back and bought a Bear Bones one off Stuart which works 100% for me now.

Ben - I'm 6'3" in one and have no issues - in a big winter bag on a full length (for me) NeoAir too.... plenty of room solo.

Dan - What I really want to buy is the ZPacks Altaplex, but its very expensive and somewhat limited in its flexibility, only taking one person. I'm a bit reluctant to spend such a lot unless its the ultimate tent for all sorts of situations..! But the Lunar Solo looks like a much cheaper, very similar design. What puts me off are not knowing how good the ventilation is... though perhaps with the top vent, it could actually better than the Altaplex...? How do you find it? Is it easy to pitch a little higher off the ground? And the inner door. I love the look of the rainbow door on the Zpack tents, and think the door on the Lunar Solo looks annoying - only half the mesh opens up? How do you find that in practice?

Thanks :-)

Ventilation on the Lunar is okay but condensation's always going to be potentially worse than something with a removable inner.

There's a little room for adjustment but not much due to the hanging floor ... too low and you lose ventilation, too high and you'll stress the netting joining walls to floor.

Chris, I think it's very hard to find the perfect shelter. For me, this one works for what I need. The net door opens wide enough I think.
I've had a bit of condensation but I've had that in loads of different tents.

I'm on my honeymoon in Turkey at the moment but when I'm back, you're welcome to come and take a look at it or we'll do a local night out or something.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I should stop trying to think that there is a perfect shelter out there... :-)

Maybe a look at yours when you're back could be a good plan. Though enjoy your honeymoon first, and congratulations on getting married Dan!
