Re: BB200 Route.
I'd rather carry a singlespeed than a geared bike up some of those hills. I imagine those road miles in the first half will be frustrating though.
Re: BB200 Route.
Anyone know of any shops / pubs / toilets etc between Llandinam (~18 miles) and Bucknell (~56 miles)?

Re: BB200 Route.
There's a pub marked on the map at Felindre about 200m off route, no idea if it's actually or still there or what it's like. From previous experience (limited) most of the "villages" on the map are just a few houses, no shops or other services.Richard G wrote:Anyone know of any shops / pubs / toilets etc between Llandinam (~18 miles) and Bucknell (~56 miles)?
Edit: Just been using Google streetview to go round Bucknell and there doesn't look to be a lot there, probably best carry on to Knighton unless you are in dire straights, it's only another 6Km or so.

Re: BB200 Route.
If you are on a pub crawl then there are watering holes at Llanbister, St Harmon, Pant y Dwr (really hope it doesn't rain before I get here!), Llanidloes and the Star Inn just before the finishRichard G wrote:Ahh, Wharf inn... potential. Cheers.

Re: BB200 Route.
I suspect the Star will be closed when I get there... or open if things have gone HORRIBLY wrong.

Re: BB200 Route.
The Wharf Inn is only open evening they say:-(Richard G wrote:Ahh, Wharf inn... potential. Cheers.
Re: BB200 Route.
Weak.
Re: BB200 Route.
Just plotted out food stops, looks like its going to be a long hungry night after Knighton!
On a positive note, bike is packed and ready to go!

Re: BB200 Route.
Think I'll pop in to the psychic clairvoyant at Pant Y Dwr and see if they can tell me if I'm going to finish.
Re: BB200 Route.
i see we're going through that there (little) London. And Moelfre City. How very cosmopolitan

Re: BB200 Route.
All packed and ready to go....so decided to drive over tomorrow and do a couple of extra days riding and a bivvy out up the coast.....Can't sit around the house waiting for three days now

Re: BB200 Route.
Keep going folks. I'm loving all the research you're doing. Hoping I can log in on Thursday night and crib off everyone else.
I'm also hoping to make Knighton (night town?) for food, maybe do a couple of hours riding in the dark then find somewhere to bed down for a few hours..

Re: BB200 Route.
Knighton is the English name; Welsh is Tref-y-clawdd which means Town on the Dyke.
If anyone is looking for a good pub in Knighton, the Horse and Jockey is good, situated between the railway station and town centre.

Re: BB200 Route.
Hopefully Greg.Route looks good Stu. Should be a nice ride out :)
I can recommend the doner pizza from the place next to the clock tower in Knighton and the chippy 30 yds up always seems popular.
May the bridges you burn light your way
Re: BB200 Route.
Will the pizza place be open when I get there at 15:00?

Win. I wonder how well I can digest a kebab whilst cycling. lol
Re: BB200 Route.
It can be done, I did it on the B150 with chips, Coke, ice cream and chilli sauce.
