Alpkit BruKit - £29 - worth it? (PSA)

What's the general impression of the Alpkit Brukit? I've never owned an integrated stove/cooking pot thing like this, and to be honest I'm not sure I need one, but it's been reduced to £29 and I'm tempted.

I like mine fast and efficient when you want a brew but its a tad on the bulky side and does not fit conveniently into bags.

I assumed it would probably fit into my stem cell XL, though whether I'd want to use that easily accessible space for something I'd probably only need when I get where I'm going is debatable.

everyone i know with one says its slower than a week in the jail once the cannister gets half emptied.....

if you want something of that ilk then the jetboil really is head and shoulders above.

But still a long way off perfect.

I really like mine, I pack it in my seat pack with my down jacket, tarp and bivvy bag round it and it fits fine. Boils quick enough for my needs, I'm never in a rush and just stick it on before I throw the tarp up and it's boiling by the time I'm done

That sounds like it could work for me. Out of interest, what seat pack do you have? I use the Alpkit (can you see a theme here? Trying not to be a fanboy but as cheapskate with expensive taste I've ended up with a lot of their stuff ) tapered drybag - could probably fit the bivvy bag in the pointy end and wrap e.g. down jacket round the Brukit above.

I've got one, got carried away by the jetboil image thing...
Took it back(not bike)packing, and it's ok. But bloody heavy.

It now lives in the back of our stealth campervan, for when I want a quick brew with out getting the double burner set up.

Yeah it's the Alpkit tapered bag I use, down jacket in first then brukit with my tarp under it and bivvy bag above it to fill the space out and there's still room for some food stuffed in the end before closing it. Not the lightest option but I also have to work to a budget and it does the job nicely

My first post on here.

I have a brukit always come on my longer rides and days out.
Did have it in a XL stem cell, but found it hindered handle bar movement.
It's now carried in a dry bag on my fork mounted rack.


From today's ride 30 miles

I have one and really like it. Can't go wrong for that price either. There are lighter set ups for bike packing, but for camping, and weekend rides it will do really well.
