Rhayader/Elan Valley Day Rides
Any of you good folk got interesting off-road routes around here? I've got the classic to ride this Saturday, need something for the Sunday
Re: Rhayader/Elan Valley Day Rides
Pick up the Trans-Cambrian route out of Rhayader. Follow it over to the mountain road and take that back towards Rhayader. Just before you summit, take a left onto the 4x4 track and ride the Golf Course run back down the hill. Right at the farm gate, left at the T...deposits you back into the south end of Rhayader.

Which is the golf course run? I've seen it mentioned a couple of times but there's no golf course marked on the map.

This one: http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=294342 ... &A=Y&Z=120. Known locally as the golf links.whitestone wrote:Which is the golf course run? I've seen it mentioned a couple of times but there's no golf course marked on the map.

Starting at the Elan Valley visitor centre, ride clockwise. Maybe add some of the bridleways on Carn Gafallt, to the east of the Elan Village if you've got time.

Been years since I've been up there but that's a nice route. I'd ride it in the other direction though, then stick to the minor roads S of the Elan back to the visitor centre.

Thanks again. The weather looks "interesting" for the weekend...
