Buying Meths abroad

Is it easy to by small quantities of Meths abroad cheaply?

I ask as last time I tried with a multi fuel stove to buy paraffin abroad (which is easily available here in any hardware store) it was I nightmare to buy anything less than a gallon. While gas canisters which I thought would be hard to get and the reason for taking the multifuel stove in the first place were dead easy to get.

Off to Slovenia in Sept and want to be able to buy 500ml bottles of Meths for my stove

You can buy litre bottles of ethanol fuel for spirit burners fairly easily in europe. there is a table on the trangia site with fuel name translations into other languages.

Is it just from hardwear shops? As we can get it in large supermarkets too

I've found it in supermarkets of all sizes in France Germany and Italy fwiw. What's Slovenia's barbecue culture like?

supermarkets and/or petrol stations is where i've normally got it. Never been to slovenia though.

In some countries chemists are also a good bet. You can get 1L bottles of methanol/surgical spirit.
