We will need to await Alan G's wisdom on this point.

Did anyone clarify the loch crossing rules? Lee seemed to cut this out without first going down to the loch to check the conditions and then back tracking? But Huw appeared to do the same on his ITT so is this now accepted as ok? In past years didn't people have to go to the crossing point and if they were not happy with the conditions they could cross upstream provided they then went back to where they would of come ashore it they'd crossed in the correct place.

Again:

Race director makes final call - Alan is racing - it'll be clarified after.

I thought the rule was if you went and looked at the official crossing point but didn't like the look of it you could go round on the road (which would take much longer).

The race for 2nd girl is pretty close at the moment - Fiona and Jenny look like they're riding together and Marketa is not far back at all.

Ian is playing smart by giving regular SPOT chirps - I guess he knows we're watching :)

you think the three of them are riding together ?

barring the resolution issues you mention greg i wouldnt be surprised if lee is putting in a little dig at the moment looking at the spot timings vs miles covered.

Ian's manual tracking was fine for most of the route. Now it's just frustrating! He's just popped up with Javi...

I think Ian F has had an exceptional ride, brilliant to see him in the top 3.

Agree -we rode together at the Jennride and I made a point of telling him he was riding very well. He was quite happy with his ride, even if he thought he was going too hard. Training pays off. He's done very well.

Next year can someone set up a webcam pointing north from the finish so we can see the riders coming in? The frustration of waiting for spot updates is making me a nervous wreck

I think some top riding all round, but the front runner pace has been exceptional! We're gonna find out very soon the order of the next batch of riders.
